Fall is for Feet

Insights from KurSpa Posted March, 2018 Insights from Kurspa | October 01, 2017

Autumn is a great time of year. Here in the Okanagan, fall means beautiful scenery and the changing of leaves, but just as the leaves change color and begin to dry and crack so can our skin. Our feet are especially susceptible to the dry weather.

At KurSpa we have some amazing treatments to help pamper your feet and keep them hydrated and healthy.

Reflexology l $99                                                                                                                   60 min
Reflexology is the application of pressure point massage to specific points on the feet. These points correspond to different organics and systems of the body making reflexology not just an amazing hydrating massage for your feet but also a treatment that activates the bodies self-healing forces.

Fruit Smoothie Pedicure l $80                                                                                            60 min
Available for the month of October only indulge in this ultra-luxurious pedicure.  A fruity twist on our classic pedicure including a fruit scented foot and lower leg exfoliation. Sit back relax put your feet up and drink a smoothie while your enjoy this relaxing pedicure experience.
Add a warm paraffin foot bath for an additional $25.00 to further protect and hydrate your tired tootsies.

Our feet carry us around all day and as such sometimes require a bit more attention. Some great at home tips to care for your feet are;

Don’t overdo it!
It can be tempting to trim and file your toenails right down but keeping them too short can result in ingrown toenails and broken skin which can leave your feet in pain and open to infections. Over filing or overuse of a pumice stone on our callused heels can be equally damaging.  Gently filing it weekly in addition to regular pedicure bi-weekly or monthly from a professional is much more effective to control that dry skin on our heels.

Foot Soaks
A warm foot bath can be a great way to unwind. The addition of epson salt to our foot bath can aid in promoting circulation, easing sore muscles and detoxification.

Foot Cream
Foot creams are thicker than your average moisturizer and therefore more effective on the thicker skin of our overworked feet. Moisturizing with a foot cream at night and wearing a lightweight pair of socks to sleep is a great way to keep your feet warm and hydrated. Wash and dry your feet well before applying the foot cream and wipe any excess cream off in the morning after removing the socks.
